Scissors, Where Art Thou?
If you’re a homeschool family, you know the struggle is real: scissors are never where they are supposed to be. One minute they are on the craft table, and the next, they’ve vanished into the void. Did they walk away? Are they hiding with the lost socks? Or did one of the kids sneak them off to their project corner?
Homeschool life means scissors are in high demand, from cutting out shapes for math lessons to art projects and the occasional attempt to turn shipping boxes into a castle. But, for some reason, no matter how many pairs you buy, you’ll always find yourself asking, Who had the scissors last? Cue the chorus of, “Not me!”
The hunt for scissors becomes a lesson in patience and detective work: checking the junk drawer, digging through backpacks, and lifting couch cushions (only to find missing Lego pieces instead). And when you finally find them. They’re in the most random places!
Honestly, the disappearing scissors feel like the unofficial mascot of homeschooling: always on the move, a little chaotic, and full of surprises.
So, where’s the weirdest place you’ve found your scissors? Or better yet, what’s your system for keeping track of them? Listen, if there’s a method to the madness, let me know.
